Duration of Study: 2 years (4 semesters – 120 ECTS)
Chemistry is a fundamental scientific discipline that underpins numerous industries, including food, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, energy, environmental technologies, healthcare, and advanced materials, while playing a significant role in technological advancement. Today, industrialization, technological innovations, sustainable production practices, and the growing demand for environmentally friendly technologies have increased the need for qualified technical professionals equipped with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in chemistry.
The Chemical Technology Program within the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Processing Technologies at Alanya University Vocational School aims to educate qualified professionals who can respond to the evolving needs of the chemical industry, possess scientific and analytical thinking skills, conduct research, question existing knowledge, develop effective solutions, adhere to professional ethical principles, and embrace innovation.
Our program provides students with a comprehensive education covering fundamental chemistry, chemical analysis methods, laboratory techniques, industrial production processes, quality control, occupational health and safety, environmental awareness, and sustainability. The curriculum includes courses such as General Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, and laboratory applications designed to develop students' professional competencies.
Combining theoretical education with hands-on practical training, our program enables students to gain experience in chemical analysis, measurement techniques, experimental procedures, and laboratory safety through the laboratory facilities available at our university. In addition, students are encouraged to develop their research, innovation, and problem-solving skills through participation in scientific research projects, industry collaborations, and professional development activities.
Students who successfully complete all required courses and fulfill the graduation requirements are awarded an Associate Degree in Chemical Technology.
Graduates of the Chemical Technology Program may pursue career opportunities in various industries, including chemicals, food, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, paints and coatings, plastics, petrochemicals, and environmental technologies. They may work in production facilities, research and development (R&D) departments, quality control units, and analytical laboratories. Furthermore, graduates may find employment opportunities in environmental analysis laboratories, water and wastewater treatment facilities, public institutions, and private sector organizations in positions aligned with their professional qualifications.
Our program continues its educational activities with the vision of educating individuals who integrate scientific knowledge with practical skills, embrace sustainable production principles, and pursue lifelong professional development.
